A very comfortable and convenient way to visit Paris. The location is central and funky and filled with great little mueums like the Musee de Carnavallet (free, with formal courtyard gardens) and the Musee de Picasso. Plus there are pretty little parks with children’s play areas; you could pop into the cafe at the Swiss Institute nextdoor to a pretty secluded garden. The Marais is also stuffed with every kind of food and convenience store, particularly boulangeries for those very important morning croissants. The apartment has a coffee machine (coffee is weak), but a french press would have been nicer. Still no complaints as the coffee pods were provided. Other essentials like dishwasher tablets and loo-roll and clingfilm are already here, and there were welcoming fresh rosebuds and a bottle of Bordeaux on the table. Another nice touch was the candles. The apartment really gives you the feel of being a real Paris resident, with plenty of storage, a few French CDs and DVDs, and internet access. Our toddler found the travel cot provided very comfortable and she slept very well after her exhausting days sightseeing. There is a bathtub (essential for a baby) and washing-machine too. The bedroom looks onto the inner courtyard so is very dark and quiet at night (rare in Paris), but there is also a sofabed in the livingroom (so I would say 4 people and a baby could stay here). Plenty of space for a family of three, and we had guests visit for dinner with no trouble, and there is a good oven and everything you could need in the kitchen. There are lots of funky features, I especially liked the huge indoor tree and the lighthouse on top of the cistern. the ceilings are fantastically high, giving plenty of light and space, yet heating works well. Sadly no lift but stairs are not steep. really great place to stay and good value, so much better than any hotel.
